Our daily routine, I hit tennis balls from the deck for the dogs to chase. Now Shadow will bring them back to me, hence the retriever in Golden Retriever.
Morgan on the other hand will chase after the ball and pick it up so Shadow can't get it. She will drop the ball and wait for Shadow to come over to pick it up. As Shadow is about to pick up the ball Morgan snatches it up and runs away with it. He will continue to circle her until she drops it again. Shadow always wants the last ball hit and is determined to get it.
Other times Morgan will chase after Shadow barking and growling the length of the yard. Just as he rounds on the ball she will body slam into him to throw him off balance.
Shadow is very hard on the balls. He will chomp on them before he gives them back.
That is, if and when he gives them back.
