Girls night out.

Nancy, Diane, and I went out last night for a d-lish Mexican dinner and then we were off to the theatre for a knee slapping, foot tapping good time.

Chamber ribbon cutting.

Wednesday the Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce had a ribbon cutting for All In Stitches Embroidery. Nancy was unable to attend so her sister Diane came with me to join in the fun.

Scott-T-Dog is done!

And the finished painted carving is ready for the Johnson County Fair.

Burning the fur into the carving.

Carving the rough out.

Sunny side up.

Look what popped up. We have a dozen sunflowers that came up on their own. Soon the seeds that we planted from Peg and Scott will be opening up. They are about 4' tall and just about ready to bloom.

Allis Chalmers is her new name, like the tractor.

So far this little girl does not have a name. Travis came home with this lil bundle of joy on Friday for Tom, however I think they both wanted a shop dog. Travis and his friends were to come up with some names last night. We shall see if they did. Nancy likes the name Roxy and I like Chief (she is black & white).

Party time in Mo.

Nancy planning a strategic move.

As always, game time rolls around. What do we have here? Well I was told this fun game is called washers. You toss three colored washers into a box with a receptacle in the center to win points. Nancy and I came in second to last.

Since all the Weigand girls were home last Sunday Fathers day was celebrated early. We were invited over for steaks on the grill and homemade ice cream. Yum!

Dog sitting.

So many dogs to pet and not enough hands!
Shadow wants his fair share too.
Morgan hiding under the deck.

Cousin Gwen posing for a photo.

And Shadow will not be left out. He wants his picture taken as well.

In the Meadow.

Before we got the new John Deere tractor I had to let parts of the lawn grow back in. The result was beautiful flowers that the bird population has become quite fond of.

What's this, could it be a Bird Dog?

It's a cabbage? Yep, 3 pounds, 6 ounces!

Now that's some cabbage lady!

Nancy is very proud of her radish crop.
Today I picked three heads of cabbage. Also pulled out some nice looking onions. We had some for dinner last night. D-lish!

Shadow makes his move.

This guy never gives up. Watch as he makes his move on Nancy.

Closer, closer, closer.

And he's up!

Hola Amigos! Que Pasa?

The Weigands stopped over for some tacos and beer. Some decided to dress the part! Mexican music filled the air as Courtney began to dance. After dinner we played cards and board games till late in the night.

A slice of middle America.

Tuesday Nancy, Courtney, Beth, and I were guests on a field trip to Sedalia, MO with her sister Diane and the Glendale Club. Beth filled us in on the history of the quaint little town.

It seems where ever we go in Missouri there is a tribute to a special dog.

This seven story hotel was built in 1927 and is an example of Classic Revival architecture. One of the Glendale girls spent the first night of her honeymoon here before traveling to Niagara Falls in 1948.

The King of Ragtime, "Scott Joplin" lived here .

A mural of Scott Joplin is painted on the north wall of the Wilken Music Company.

Our first stop was at the Katy Depot. It was here where we learned of the 1974 Ozark Music Festival, touted as the Woodstock of the Midwest, you must check out www.ozarkmusicfestivalexhibit.com to really understand what a crazy time they had.
The Katy Trail passes thru here and runs to St.Louis, MO.
Many of western movies had cattle drives that went thru Sedalia.

The Glendale girls loose in downtown Sedalia.
Lunch was at The Ivy Cottage Tea Room, d-lish!

Dinner and a craft night at Kristens.

Nancy's flower design.

Sue's Mexican theme.

The craft project was to print on fabric reusable napkins using carved potatoes for the stamp image. We were told that they will be entered into the fair to be judged next month.
Good luck girls!

Planes of all kinds.

Ready for take off!

John Deere delivers.

Matt delivers my new tractor.
A girl and her tractor. Could you just give us a few minutes alone?

Ok Nancy, you can take it for a spin, but don't get it dirty!

Only the "Shadow" knows.

Shadow has died and gone to heaven as they say. He basically lives on our deck. As soon as I let Morgan out in the morning Shadow shows up and spends the day on our deck. He will nap some, stick his face in the screen door trying to get your attention to come out and play. Morgans toys can be found along BB highway as Shadow will pick out a toy and carry it off to his house, or take one for a walk down the road. We found Morgans football this morning on our walk down to the bull pen. Most days Shadow will follow along with us. The neighbors now think we have two dogs.

Truckin down the highway.

Tom and Travis got a new semi that needed the GVW on the doors to be street legal. We decided to come up with a new logo for the lettering on the doors.
We jazzed it up adding some graphics of a cow and corn. You can click on the photo to see a larger image.
Travis E. wishes he had nice lettering like this for his truck.

What's up?

This photo is for Peg (Jacks mom). On the left are the sunflowers from the seeds you gave us. If the wind dosen't blow them away it looks like we will have a bumper crop!
The cabbage is looking good.

Now if we could only keep up with the weeds. They just keep growing, and growing, and growing!

Morgan inspecting the garden.
